Come Rock out! Join our Music Club
CPJMA's after-school Music Club is fun and FREE! CPJMA staff volunteer their time to give our students an extra opportunity to learn how to play the guitar.
Music Club is a performance club with two or more public shows per year. We practice singing, guitar, ukulele, percussion, and stage presence to gain confidence in school and in music. The initial focus is on guitar, both acoustic and electric; we also support electric bass guitar, drums, violin, and harmonica. We have on any given day 20-30 children attending.
Music Club meets on Tuesdays after school in the auditorium from 2:10-3:00pm. It is open to students in grades 4th & 5th. All levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced. Instruments are available for at school use or you may bring your own.
Professional musicians have continued to join us during the year to teach and jam. Music club students learn instrument-playing skills, playing songs, writing songs, and making audio and video recordings.
We have performed at Adams Avenue Street Fair, Pacific Beach Beachfest, Gator By The Bay, Pacific Beach Taylor Library, and our annual Music Club Rock Show.
If you have any instruments you would like to donate to the music club, contact Ben Champion, club director at bchampion@sandi.net.
